Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Hotel video Production

From costs and timelines to creative process and deliverables — answered directly, with no fluff.

Costs & Budgeting:

  • Hotel video production typically ranges from £2,500 to £20,000+ depending on scope, number of production days, and deliverables required. At Lioteka, our packages start with the Direct Booking Starter — a half-day production delivering 3 social video creatives within 7 days — through to the full Hotel Content System, covering 2 production days, 10–12 paid-social creatives, a brand showreel, and website hero video. For multi-property groups or bespoke seasonal campaigns, investment is scoped individually. Share your property size and marketing goals and we'll outline the most effective plan for your budget.

  • For most properties, yes — and the return is measurable. Cinematic video drives higher direct booking rates (reducing OTA commission), increases time spent on your website, improves paid social ad performance, and supports a higher average daily rate by communicating the quality of the experience before arrival. A brand film that converts even a small percentage more visitors to direct bookings can recover its production cost within a single season. Our packages are structured around these commercial outcomes, not just aesthetic appeal.

  • Travel costs for international shoots are discussed transparently at the proposal stage and outlined clearly before you commit. For European projects, travel is typically included as a straightforward line item — flights, accommodation for the production team, and local logistics. There are no hidden charges. The total cost of bringing a Lioteka production to your European property is clearly scoped upfront.

  • All Lioteka packages include strategy, full on-site production, post-production (colour grading, sound design, music licensing), and delivery in all required formats and aspect ratios. What can be scoped additionally: drone filming (included in larger packages, available as an add-on for smaller ones), talent or model casting, international travel, and additional revision rounds beyond those included. We walk through the full scope before production begins — you'll never receive a bill that surprises you.

Process & Timeline:

  • From enquiry to delivery, most hotel video productions take 2–4 weeks. Our Direct Booking Starter package delivers within 7 days of the shoot; the Growth Content Package within 10 days. Larger productions typically take 3–4 weeks including pre-production planning, production day(s), and post-production. Rush delivery is available for time-sensitive campaigns — mention your deadline when you enquire and we'll confirm what's achievable.

  • Pre-production is where the strategic and creative groundwork is laid. At Lioteka this includes: a strategy session to define your target guest, key messages, and content objectives; a property review and shot list; creative direction (mood references, visual tone, music direction); and logistics planning including crew, equipment, and permit requirements for drone filming. Good pre-production is what separates a polished production from a rushed one — it's why our on-site days run efficiently and our deliverables arrive on time.

  • A production day covers filming across all key areas of the property — rooms, F&B, spa, grounds, exteriors — with full direction throughout. We work efficiently to minimise disruption to guests and day-to-day operations. Drone sequences are scheduled around the shoot day where included. All footage is logged and backed up on-site. You receive a post-shoot confirmation of everything captured before post-production begins.

  • All packages include at least one round of client feedback and revisions as part of post-production. Larger productions include two rounds as standard. Revisions cover pacing, music, scene order, captions, and colour adjustments. We share a rough cut first, then a refined version incorporating your feedback. Structural re-shoots or scope additions are handled separately, but in practice this rarely arises when pre-production has been done properly.

  • A good brief covers: your property name and location, target guest profile, the primary goal of the content (direct bookings, brand awareness, paid social, website refresh), any existing brand guidelines or visual references, approximate budget or budget range, and ideal delivery date. You don't need to have everything figured out — that's what the strategy session is for. At Lioteka, every project starts with a discovery conversation where we ask the right questions and recommend the most effective approach for your goals.

Deliverables & Formats:

  • Lioteka Media produces the full spectrum of hotel and resort video: cinematic brand films, website hero videos, paid social creatives (Reels, TikToks, Meta and Google ads), organic social content, property walkthrough films, F&B and spa features, golf and leisure sequences, aerial drone footage, and seasonal campaign content. We also produce video for luxury villas, boutique rental properties, and short-stay residences. Every deliverable is formatted for its intended platform — vertical for social, landscape for website and OTA use.

  • A hotel brand film is a cinematic, narrative-led video — typically 60 seconds to 3 minutes — that captures the essence, atmosphere, and unique guest experience of a property. Unlike a room walkthrough, a brand film tells a story: it conveys the feeling of staying at your hotel, not just a list of its features. Brand films are used on hotel websites, in email campaigns, on OTA platforms, at trade shows, and across paid social — and they're the single most effective piece of content for justifying a rate premium and driving direct bookings.

  • All social deliverables are provided in the formats needed for each platform: 9:16 vertical for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts; 1:1 square for Instagram feed and Meta ads; 16:9 landscape for YouTube, website embeds, and presentations. Caption and subtitle versions are included as standard, as are multiple cut-down lengths (15s, 30s, 60s) for ad testing. Files are delivered ad-ready — you can go live directly from what we send you.

  • All music used in Lioteka productions is fully licensed for commercial use across digital platforms including websites, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and paid advertising. We use premium sync-licensed music libraries suited to luxury brand content. You will not face copyright claims on social platforms from content we deliver. Music rights are cleared for the agreed usage at the time of delivery.

  • The hotel or property client receives a licence to use all finished, delivered video content across agreed platforms and channels. Raw footage ownership and additional usage rights are discussed at the proposal stage — some clients require access to raw files for in-house editing, which can be accommodated. All standard deliverables are cleared for paid advertising, website embedding, OTA platforms, and organic social media.

Property Types:

  • Yes — independent and boutique hotels are central to what we do. We've produced films for Design Hotels member properties and independent luxury resorts. Smaller properties often have the most compelling stories, and cinematic video levels the playing field against larger chain competitors. Our entry-level package is specifically designed for boutique hotels testing paid social or refreshing underperforming creative — a low-risk starting point with a fast turnaround.

  • Yes. For hotel groups and multi-property brands we offer bespoke content partnerships covering multi-day productions, seasonal campaign planning, full website and ad creative overhauls, and ongoing creative retainers. Multi-property shoots can be structured to maximise efficiency and reduce per-property cost. Enquire with your portfolio details and marketing objectives and we'll outline a tailored approach.

  • Yes. Alongside hotels and resorts, Lioteka Media produces cinematic video for luxury villas, holiday rental properties, private estates, and branded residences. High-end rental properties listed on platforms like Airbnb Luxe or Plum Guide require the same standard of visual content as a five-star hotel to command premium rates and attract the right guests. We've produced villa films in Spain and travel to destinations across Europe for confirmed projects.

  • Yes. Lioteka Media is based in the UK and films projects worldwide, with a particular focus on European properties. We've produced films in Lithuania, Spain, and across Western Europe, and we travel for all confirmed international projects. Whether your property is on the Mediterranean coast, the Baltic, Scandinavia, the Alps, or anywhere in between — we can accommodate it. Travel costs are outlined clearly at the proposal stage.

  • Absolutely — this is one of the most common briefs we receive. Many properties have invested in professional photography but have no motion content. We can work alongside your existing visual assets to create a cohesive identity, ensuring the video content feels consistent with your established brand look and photography style.

Strategy & Results:

  • Hotel video increases direct bookings through several mechanisms. It improves conversion on hotel websites — guests who watch a brand film are significantly more likely to book directly than those who only view photographs. High-quality video powers paid social campaigns (Meta, Instagram, TikTok) that reach your target audience before they visit an OTA. It also reduces price sensitivity: guests who feel emotionally connected to a property are more willing to pay the direct rate. At Lioteka, our packages are structured specifically around these conversion objectives — not aesthetics alone.

  • For paid social, the most effective hotel video is short (15–30 seconds), emotionally immediate, with a strong visual hook in the first two seconds and a clear call-to-action. Lifestyle-led content — showing the guest experience, not just the room — consistently outperforms property tours in paid social environments. At Lioteka, our social creatives are specifically scripted and edited for this format, not simply cut-down versions of a longer brand film.

  • Yes — and this is one of the most compelling commercial arguments for hotel video investment. OTA platforms (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb) commoditise hotel stays and charge significant commission on every booking. The most effective way to shift guests to book direct is to give them a reason to visit your website first — and cinematic video is the most powerful tool for that. A hotel with compelling video on its website and social channels creates an experience that no OTA listing can replicate, directly supporting both direct booking rate and average daily rate.

  • Yes. For hotels running ongoing paid social campaigns — which require regular creative refreshes to maintain performance — we offer retainer partnerships at preferred rates with priority scheduling. Retainer scope is agreed individually, typically covering a set number of production days and deliverables per quarter or season. Enquire to discuss what a long-term content partnership might look like for your property.

Working with Lioteka Media:

  • Lioteka Media specialises exclusively in luxury hospitality and premium property video — we don't produce corporate explainers or event coverage. This focus means every creative decision is made through the lens of what converts luxury travellers. We combine cinematic production quality with a performance-first mindset: the content we produce is designed to drive direct bookings and build long-term brand equity, not simply to look beautiful. We've worked with Design Hotels member properties and leading European resorts, and we bring that understanding of the sector to every brief.
